This home was completely rebuilt due to the extreme damage and neglect it had encountered since the 1930’s. We changed the style of this home to suite the client’s desires of a more open plan and modern lines of glass, steel and concrete block. The rear sliding door system opens entirely to the new patio & pool; complete with misters and fire pit. Special placement of windows and day-lighting techniques eliminate the need for lighting through the day, reducing energy consumption. Artistic installations of the Split Face Block play with the sun’s rays from above while the wood plank ceiling passes through the window wall blurring the boundary of interior & exterior spaces.
